Black Jubilee
Black Jubilee is a completely solo personal project I am undertaking that I hope to eventually option as an illustrated series or graphic novel.
I am writing and illustrating early 2009 and hopefully will keep the momentum going through summer. In the spirit of Ray Bradbury’s “Something Wicked This Way Comes,” the story revolves around a traveling circus with a host of dark and mysterious characters that moves through small towns in America at the turn of the century with the most extraordinary consequences…

Is that a carriage next to the jubilee tent? I’ll assume that part of the story takes place in Amish Country (creepy!).
It’s one of the circus caravans. They are Hungarian-made and quite old. Alexander the Machinist treats the great wooden wheels carefully after every long journey.
