Order Ahead Dining at Disney World
My team designed the brand new restaurant mobile ordering feature for the official Walt Disney World® app. As the Lead Designer on the project, I worked closely with my UX lead counterpart and senior designers to estimate, workshop, concept and design the end to end eCommerce experience on mobile. I was responsible for both ideating and leading the execution of both structural and visual design & UI tasks. Our design and product team worked directly with senior executives, key Food & Beverage business stakeholders and engineers to design and launch a simple and easy to use mobile ordering experience for park guests to help manage their vacation.
As Lead Designer on a cross-discipline and partially remote team, I led the full feature design from end to end, from concept to execution, relying on a mix of deeply talented interaction and visual designers to own and drive many of the detailed design tasks.
My role was primarily leading and facilitating concept and whiteboard sessions with our designers and product managers, balancing the business requirements with guest experience, driving both high level and low level tactical creative vision for the team to work towards, estimations and resource management, managing streams of workflow and process, as well as getting in the weeds to help support our designers.
I had the opportunity to present to senior leadership and executives, build strong relationships with business partners, mentor junior designers, drive the myriad visual design tasks and documentation, as well as build and iterate on InVision prototypes for the feature.
